It was a day for entertainment and creativity for differently abled children gathered at Providence College of Engineering, Chengannur campus.
Providence College NSS volunteers teamed up with special needs students yesterday to present “Pro ArtJam 2017”, a unique arts programme designed to educate and empower the differently abled through the expression of art. Painting activity for mentally challenged youth artists on theme “Dreams Are Made Of This” was the main attraction.
Fifty children from ten special needs schools in Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta districts came together to weave their dreams on canvas in colour.
Special needs school teachers, association personnel, social activists and caricaturists were also a part of the creative activity.
The entertainment line-up for the day included singing, dancing, and performances by the Providence Angels.
Smt Nisha Jose K Mani, a renowned social activist, inaugurated the programme and addressed the gathering while Dr Susan Mathew, Director, Deepti Special School, Manakkala gave the key note address, while Smt Mariamma George, Chairperson, Providence College presided.NSS technical cell of the college
